To demonstrate the functionalities and practical possibilities of the blue-c system, different applications have been developed in the fields of information visualization, shopping experiences and design.
The blue-c API itself was developed and evaluated in collaboration with the application designers.
All applications are built on top of the blue-c API, which in turn uses the SGI OpenGL Performer programming library.
These applications demonstrate the unique characteristics of spatial awarness and stereoscopic depth that immersive environments offer, and the special qualities of tele-collaboration in three-dimensional virtual space.
Currently, gesture recognition modules are in place that enable participants to use a pointing gesture for navigation or interaction purposes.
